This policy explains what personal information we collect when you apply for 1-1 coaching, why we collect it, and what your rights are. Please read it before submitting an application.

We handle your information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), and the EU GDPR where it applies to applicants based in the EU, including the Republic of Ireland.

Who we are

The coaching programme and this website are operated by J Digital Ltd (company number SC887684), a company registered in Scotland. J Digital Ltd is the "data controller" responsible for your personal information.

We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at help@jacobresells.com.

What information we collect

When you fill in the coaching application, we collect the information you give us, which includes:

• Your first name and email address
• Your phone number
• Where you're based and your age
• Your answers about your reselling — how long you've been doing it, roughly what you're making, what you feel is holding you back, and how much you have available to invest
• The time you book for a call

We also collect some technical information automatically when you visit the site, through analytics and embedded content:

• Your IP address and approximate (country or city level) location
• Device type, operating system and browser
• Which pages you visit and how long you spend on them
• How you arrived — the referral source, and which platform or link brought you here (for example a YouTube, Instagram or TikTok link), so we can see which content drives genuine applications
• Cookies or similar data set by embedded third-party content, such as the booking widget, governed by their own privacy policies

We do not collect special category data (such as health, religion or ethnicity) through this site.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your information to:

• Assess your application and decide whether the coaching is a suitable fit
• Contact you to arrange, confirm and hold your call, including by email, phone or text, and to send reminders and joining details
• Where relevant, let you know about other products of ours that may be a better starting point
• Send you coaching updates, content and offers, where you have agreed to receive them
• Keep the site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet our legal obligations

Our legal basis for this is a combination of taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (dealing with your application) and our legitimate interests in running and improving our coaching business. Where we send you marketing or set non-essential cookies, our basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Where we retain or disclose data to meet the law, our basis is legal obligation.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we never will. We share it only with:

• Trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the application and booking process — including website hosting, form and data storage, scheduling, analytics and email delivery. They act on our instructions and only for the purposes above.
• Our professional advisers, such as our accountants and any legal advisers, who are bound by confidentiality.
• Authorities, where we are required to disclose data by law, court order, or a formal request from a regulator.
• A successor business, if we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition or restructure — subject to the same protections set out in this policy.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we make sure the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your application information only for as long as we need it. If you don't go on to become a client, we'll generally hold your details for up to 24 months in case a different offer becomes relevant to you, and then delete them — or sooner if you ask us to. If you become a client, we keep your information for as long as needed to deliver the programme and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Marketing

If you have agreed to receive marketing from us, we may send you coaching updates, content and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by emailing help@jacobresells.com. Unsubscribing from marketing won't affect operational messages about an active application, such as your call reminders.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
• Ask us to delete your information
• Ask us to restrict or object to how we use it
• Ask us to transfer your information to another provider
• Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent

To exercise any of these, email help@jacobresells.com. We'll respond within one calendar month, though we can extend that by up to two further months for complex requests, and we may need to verify your identity first. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Cookies and analytics

We use analytics to understand how people find and use the site so we can improve it. This may set cookies in your browser. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; doing so won't stop you using the site.

Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls and regular review of our security practices. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we treat protecting your data as a core responsibility.

Data breaches

If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to risk your rights and freedoms, we'll notify the ICO within 72 hours where required, and we'll tell affected individuals directly where the risk to them is high.

Children

Our services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
